Local Community

School Programs

Amphitheatre Primary School has a wealth of support from the local community in running programs throughout the school.

Find out more below.

MARC Van

Every two weeks we have a Mobile Area Research Centre (MARC) Van arrive at school.

A qualified teacher takes the students for approximately half a day to learn about libraries and books.

Students are able to borrow books from the MARC Van and will need to return them after a month.

Japanese

Japanese is taught each week via a trial program on video conferencing with a teacher from Trawalla Primary School.

Classes will also be conducted face to face at Cluster Days

Swimming

At the beginning of each year students participate in a two week survival swimming program at the Avoca Pool.

Students learn the basics of survival and stroke technique in an outdoor pool.

School Sports / Activities

As we are a small school we compete in the annual Pyrenees District School Sports against the other Pyrenees Cluster Schools.

Amphitheatre has a sports uniform for the day which is a pale blue t-shirt that is supplied by the school.

Each year the sports are held at one of the Cluster school’s local ovals. It is a big family event and parents often arrange to come out for the day to watch their children participate.

Cluster Days

Students also come together with 6 other small rural schools 3 times a term. On a Cluster day students travel to one of the rural schools to participate in 4 activities such as literacy, numeracy, sport or a language.

These days are designed to allow students to experience class activities with students of their own age as well as develop their social skills.  There is NO cost to students to participate in these days.

Uniform

Dress for success

Amphitheatre Primary School’s uniform is red tops with black pants/shorts/skorts.  The Parents and Friends Committee have a stock pile of red t-shirts with the school emblem.  They are at cost price and usually all sizes are available.

Red jumpers are also available with the school emblem.

School hats are a gift from Parents and Friends at the beginning of each student’s time at our school.

Please see the office to organise sizes and purchases of uniforms.
